The Waffle House in Searcy is awesome on third shift (9p-7a) if a cook named Ashantae is working...Oh wait! That's me. Well not to be conceited or anything but...
Stopped and grabbed 2 coffees for the road. Quick in and out and the coffee is sooo delicious! We love the Waffle House!
Food is pretty much what you'd expect from a Waffle House. But what kills it is the atmosphere and people working there. I walked in with a bag and sat down. First question I got asked was, "Are you here to eat or just here to study?" in a very snappy tone. She eased up once I told her I was there to eat. Then my food came, all while I'm listening to waitresses argue and complain about their job. Kills the atmosphere for me. Then at 9pm just a few minutes after I finished eating, waiting for my bill. My waitress dashed out of the place. I made eye contact with her and she kept walking. It took me over 20 minutes to get my bill after that. Then another 5 or so until the next waitress could get me a pen so I could sign the receipt. Half of my time there was spent waiting.
Awesome breakfast today. We've eaten at this location several times on our way to Little Rock. Today was exceptionally pleasant. The waitress, Liz was very friendly & attentive. First time we have ever had someone offer us a military discount which was great. Cook even came over to make sure food cooked good. Great place run well.
Great food and friendly people. And it is consistent with it as well.
